Meet James P. Shirley
Your voice in District 1.
I am married to Esther Shirley, and we have three sons: James Jr. (deceased), Marcus (deceased) and Malcolm. We also have five grandchildren: James Anthony, Jamie, Isaiah, Elijiah and Malcolm Jr. We’ve lived in San Dimas for 24 years. I earned my BA and MBA from University of California, Irvine. I worked for Xerox Corporation for 36 years and retired as a Xerox Operations Manager.
I’ve been active in San Dimas since I moved to this beautiful city. I served six years on the San Dimas Senior Citizens’ Commission and currently serve as the San Dimas Planning Commissioner, reviewing land use, policy, and zoning.

- City finance (we’re entering a really challenging period). My business experience has taught me you can still do important things on a tight budget.
